Then the LORD answered me and said, “Record the vision And inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run.” Habakkuk 2:2
It sounds so simple. And, it really is! Write things down. Not just things to-do and things that you have to remember. You must write down visions, dreams, thoughts, ideas, plans, and goals. Writing not only keeps you organized and focused on your objectives, but it allows you to visualize things in a much more powerful and tangible way. Having something on paper is almost like having a truce with yourself. A commitment to follow through with the plans and visions that you have thought through and constructed on paper. Constructing is precisely what you’re doing when you right things down. It allows you to ponder and think in detail about what it is that you are planning to build, and discover any possible setbacks or missteps that could occur along the way.
Michael Gerber, author of worldwide Best Selling book, “E-Myth” (MUST READ!) has been quoted as saying, If you don’t write it, you don’t own it.” There’s something so innately powerful about writing things down and taking strides towards accomplishing what you’ve written. It allows you to organize your ideas into a clear, concise, and easily explainable manner, which in turn motivates people to believe and assist you in ushering in your dream or vision. Vision is such an integral word in this sense due to the fact that a true visionary’s ideas outlive/outlast her/him. Whether you’re an entrepreneur like me, artist, creative, salesperson, or stay-at-home mom, writing things down makes them succinctly real, and more importantly compels you to actually believe that whatever it is you happen to be writing at the particular time, is possible. Remember, nothing is impossible, and writing your God given thoughts and ideas down inches you unfathomably closer to achieving your dreams, and contributing to the world for the better. Where do you see yourself in5, 10 years? A year from now? Don’t tell me! Instead, grab a piece of paper and begin to indulge yourself by creating the life that you envision on paper. Trust me, it works (try it for yourself)!
